How
do I place an order?
Please use the shopping cart system, even if you will be paying by mail. This provides a
record of your purchases should you need replacements later.
How
are designs delivered?
All designs are available for instant download (when paying by
credit card or through PayPal). If you buy a CD or
pay extra to have designs mailed on a floppy disk or custom CD, they are sent
through the mail. If you send payment through the mail, you will
receive a notification when your payment has been received and your instant
download is activated. Notifications will be from nobody@perfectlittlestitches.com
(Perfect Little Stitches). Due to the electronic nature of embroidery
files, there are no refunds for instant downloads or CDs.
Replacement files for instant downloads are available upon
request. CDs are only replaced is they arrive damaged.
What
format should I order?
In most cases, the best
format is the one used by your machine. For each format, the best
possible thread colors have been chosen from the palette of colors your
software uses. Some designs have been size-adjusted for specific
formats. If you prefer to do your own conversions, the Pfaff .pcs
format is the original format in which the designs were created. Be
warned: the colors of this format are rather limited, producing some strange
color combinations.
The
email with the designs asks me to reply. Why and what do I say?
I want to know that your designs have arrived. (The
credit card company also wants proof of delivery.) A simple "Got
'em. Thanks!" is much appreciated.
Have
I missed the sale prices?
Sales end automatically. The price in the shopping cart is the
price you pay. If you think the price is wrong, please email me (tbearwoman@perfectlittlestitches.com).
Why
does the order form ask for so much personal information?
To process a credit card charge, I need the street
address and zip code where the credit card company sends your
statement in order to verify the charge. If there is a problem, I
prefer to call you on the phone rather than rely on email (often the
expiration date is wrong or the credit card number is off by one
digit). I absolutely do not share any personal information with
anybody at any time.
How
do I know my order went through okay?
After you hit the <submit> button on the order form,
you should see a Thank You page. If you do not see the Thank You page, your order may not have gone through.
All designs and patterns are now set up for instant download.
If you use PayPal or a credit card, the instant download link is active immediately. If
you send payment through the mail, the download link
will be activated once payment is received. Do not hesitate to email me if you think your order was
lost. If you place the same order twice, you will only be charged
once. I personally check each order, so I can easily see if there is
a duplication.
I
want to pay by mail. What is the mailing address?
If you want to pay by mail, please use the shopping cart system. After you submit the order,
I will email you with my mailing address. (I do this to protect my
privacy.) Using the online shopping cart provides a record
of your purchases should you need replacements later.
Can
I just call you on the phone?
I do not give out my phone number. I am often out running errands and
do not wish to frustrate you with an answering machine. I am happy to
call you to answer any questions you may have.
What
are the copyright restrictions on designs from Perfect Little Stitches?
Designs may be embroidered an unlimited number of times
on items for personal use, on gifts and on items for sale. The
same terms apply to sewing patterns (unlimited use). If you are selling embroidered items on the Internet, it
would be nice if you include my URL with
the description of the item, but that is not required. You may NOT
sell, trade or give away the design files or patterns or
copies of the design files or patterns. CDs may not be resold without my
permission.
I
think I just paid for a design that I already bought. Now what?
Please email me to let me know and I will verify the double
purchase so I can issue a refund.
My
computer crashed and I lost all the designs I bought. Help...
I am happy to replace lost designs If you can
remember roughly when you bought the designs and what the designs were, that
helps me to locate them. If your email address has changed or you
ordered them under a different name, let me know.
Is
there an alternate email address?
If tbearwoman@perfectlittlestitches.com
does not work, try tbearwoman@yahoo.com
, mj@stitchfun.com or tbearwoman@nnwifi.com.
How
can I join a notification list?
There are four ways to stay informed of new designs, projects,
freebies and sales: the
StitchFun Forum, the eStitchers email list, the NewStitches Newsletter and
the StitchFun News. These are all owned and operated by Perfect
Little Stitches. Sign up for one or all four.
1) StitchFun is a forum where posts are organized by
topic. Read what interests you when you have time and avoid cluttering
your email inbox.
2) The eStitchers list is open for general discussions about embroidery, but the only
advertiser is Perfect Little Stitches. If you want only notifications
of new designs, sales and free samples, select "Special Notices" for your email delivery. Go to the Subscription
Page to sign up for eStitchers.
3) Subscribe to my NewStitches Newsletter to receive announcements
with pictures and links. Go to the Subscription
Page to sign up for NewStitches.
4) The StitchFun News is a daily compilation of ads from some of
the best embroidery designers on the Internet. Visit the StitchFun
site to learn more.
Can
I still get a freebie if it is no longer on the Freebie Page?
Once a freebie is gone, it is probably now for sale. Please
do not ask me to give you for free the same design that others are now
paying for.
Why
are all the free sample designs in little pop-open windows?
I use pop-open windows to hide the free sample designs from
auto-downloading software. This software is used by design thieves who
take whatever designs they can find (free or otherwise) and sell them on
eBay ("10,000 designs on CD"). Even though you only want
designs for your personal use, the free samples are meant to encourage you
to look around the site to see what is for sale. After all, selling
designs is my business. If you cannot get the pop-open window to work,
please email me, tell me what free sample design you want, and I will
give you a direct link to the download page for that design.
Do
Virginia residents need to add sales tax?
I pay sales tax on every order purchased by a resident of
Virginia, but I do not think it is fair to penalize my fellow Virginians by
charging them more than anybody else, so I do not add it to the purchase
price.
Who
owns Perfect Little Stitches?
I am Mary Jane Allen (also known as "MJ in Virginia" and formerly known
as Mary Jane Gendell). I have owned and operated Perfect Little Stitches since
it began in 1997. My daughter Megan helps me occasionally with artwork
and she created a few designs one summer when she interned with me.
Other than that, the business is run solely by me, every day of the year
(except for the rare vacation or hurricane). If you have any
questions, I am the one who will answer them. There are no middle
men. There is no big operation. Just me, in a very small town in
Virginia, doing the best I can.
